Release day - Memories and Murder
It's finally here - book 10 of the Tourist Trap mysteries. I'm so excited to get this book in your hands. It’s October in South Cove, California, and the locals in the quaint resort seem to be happily pairing off in the lull before the holidays. Everyone, that is, except for Jill Gardner’s elderly aunt, who just dumped her besotted fiancé—and she won’t say why.
When Jill hosts a talk at Coffee, Books, and More on the topic of elder abuse, all that’s really on her mind is l

Release week - A Very Mummy Holiday
Non-traditional holidays - it's kind of my thing. I've spent several Thanksgivings on the road or with friends rather than family. Of course, my mom and my MIL wasn't too happy about our decisions, but we made it up the next year. A Very Mummy Holiday is Jill's turn at a non-traditional Thanksgiving. Of course, dinner is all about family and friends with Aunt Jackie and Harrold showing up (set prior to Killer Party) and a bunch of the South Cove crew. And it mirrors my Thank

Making a bucket list?
I was in the Cleveland area this week (crazy traffic). I knew I was near one of the great lakes when I was planning the route at least according to Google Maps. However, I was so focused on my book events, I didn't take the time to get to a viewing point where I could see the lake and maybe even touch it. This is the second time I've missed out seeing one of the big tourist stops. I've been 30 miles away from Niagara Falls and 25 miles away from the Grand Canyon. (If you driv

July report from the front lines
I didn't travel anywhere (at least for the books - I did go to my cabin for 4th of July. Everything was fine until someone tried to blow themselves up with the fireworks.) It was nice staying home and getting things done. We had a staycation during the hottest time of the year. So we moved my office. I moved so many books, my legs hurt for two days. But I'm lifting right, apparently. The bad news is I found so many books I want to read NOW. And I have no time. We took the ba

DEADLY SOUTHERN CHARM
A few years ago at the RWA Literacy signing, I sat next to Catherine Bybee and next to her, Mary Burton. We chatted briefly that year. The next year, Catherine wasn't signing or was at a side table with the bigger authors. So I got to talk to Mary Burton. There are over 500 authors at this signing so you don't sell a lot of books, but it's a great place to network and chat. Mary was very gracious with her knowledge for a new to the mystery genre author (me). And we kept in to

February wishes
January wasn't a great month here at Casa Cahoon. We lost both our boys and we're still grieving. February is starting out warm and lovely, maybe to make up for the Polar Vortex last week. So to celebrate, Corned Beef and Casualties is releasing tomorrow. Filled with green and sunshine and happiness, it's the perfect bite of South Cove to get you out of your winter doldrums. And hopefully, me as well. :) Corned Beef and Casualties Releasing February 5th, 2019 South Cove, Cal

Finding a new normal
First, a word from our sponsor. (me) OMG you guys, A Deadly Brew hit USA Today's top 150 list on release week! This is a huge honor and I know I owe each and every one of you a thank you card. :) This weekend, we were talking with a friend about the changes in his life. He'd retired earlier this year and now, instead of going to work 40 hours a week, he needed to find a new normal. He was talking about going back to work part time to save for bigger travel opportunities. Of c

New Release - A Deadly Brew
A Deadly Brew came out yesterday. It's a Halloween novella in the Tourist Trap world. Priced right for a quick getaway, make sure you pick up your copy soon. As Halloween approaches South Cove, California, four couples get into the spirit of the holiday by conjuring up spirits. . . The house has sat empty for fifteen years, taking up prime real estate along the picturesque coastline. Built by one of the founders of South Cove, its last known owner, Maryanne Demerit, vanished
