Cat Latimer returns in Slay in Character
It's here, it's here!! Slay in Character arrived yesterday at all online and bookstore venues. If you're near a local bookstore, I'd love to see a picture of Slay in the wild. Shoot me a snapshot. Slay was fun to write since the retreat group hits a historic Old West town for their pre-writing adventure. And of course, the shootout in the streets isn't the only death in the story. I hope you enjoy and please leave a review. Staying in character can be murder when Cat Latimer

Killer Green Tomatoes - Release post
Killer Green Tomatoes, book 2 of the Farm-to-Fork Mystery series released on Tuesday. And you all exceeded my expectations! Thank you, readers. Having good release numbers matter to my publisher who makes decisions on my future based on these numbers. And I love getting reviews. They help me know that I'm on the right track with my books or if I've jumped the shark. Elle's Book Blog said this..."Her characters just seem to speak to me. They are realistic, relatable, and easy

The disappearing month...
June just got away from me. I've had some additional activities. We sold our boat after a week of two hundred plus inquiries on Facebook. I took a local class given by my RWA chapter. Later that day I gave myself food poisoning and lost two days. Bad bacon. Then I had a conference the next weekend. I've been having some medical issues (besides the food poisoning) and had to have a minor surgery. Oh, and my husband rolled the toy (side by side) during this crazy month. Long

Finishing Christmas...
Actually, it's Santa Puppy, and it's a Tourist Trap novella. Writing these short novellas has been really fun and challenging since they take place in the past (at least for South Cove folks.) Aunt Jackie was just breaking up with Josh that summer. Toby was trying to learn monogamy and failing. And a fan favorite, Sasha was still on staff at Coffee, Books, and More. The first novella, ROCKETS' DEAD GLARE, starts at 4th of July. The second, A DEADLY BREW, covers Halloween in

Release week - OF MURDER AND MEN
Yes, its time for the third installment in the Cat Latimer series, OF MURDER AND MEN. Want a taste? Here's an excerpt. Buy a copy at your favorite digital and physical book store. Check out more here. Trust. It was a hard word to put into practice. Especially when you applied it to humans, who—with the little thing called free will—didn’t seem to worry about breaking promises. Cat Latimer sank into the leather chair her ex-husband—well, now deceased ex-husband—Michael had p

Planning for the fall
I've got a few more events coming up between now and the end of the year. I'll be a participating author at Penned Con which is a St. Louis conference fundraising money for Autism. I'll be there Thursday night through Saturday - September 28th-30th. ST. LOUIS CITY CENTER HOTEL & SUITES, 400 S. 14th St.St. Louis, MO 63103 I'll be spending my birthday in New York. I've got a signing with my BFF, Laura Bradford on Saturday at The Book Shoppe, 519 Main Street, Medina, NY from 2-4

Waiting for a sign...
I think all of us are going to get one today. It's Monday and the solar eclipse is supposed to happen around lunch time. We're hanging around the house today, relaxing and waiting for the big event. I can't help thinking about when the first of these happened. There would have been no warning, just light then dark. Now, everything is planned out and we even have maps that will tell you exactly how long you'll be in total darkness. Moon pies, eclipse gum, sun chips... Must hav

Why I love writer conferences - Part 2
It was insightful for me to read my blog post from last week. I'd written that over five years ago, when my writing career was just starting. Back then, I didn't know what I'd need as a writer. I joined up with too many goal setting groups, wrote too many different genres, and wasn't focused on a career. It was a few years of throwing spaghetti on the wall. Now that I'm more settled, I still like a good Bright and Shiny, but they are put aside until I get my work done. And so

Authors in Deadwood
The Cowboy drove me out to South Dakota this weekend to attend Wild Deadwood Reads. Such a great reader event! And I met some amazing authors in the mix. The planning for next years event is starting now. We (meaning he) decided we should camp out rather than stay in the host hotel. Since we took the boys, it probably was a better decision and it turned out to be an amazing weekend. I'm still getting my real life legs under me after the weekend, but I loved road tripping ou

Hospitality and Homicide
Book 8 of the Tourist Trap series is releasing Tuesday, May 16. I love the little town of South Cove and it's quirky characters. I can't believe we're on book 8 with book 9 coming up in a couple of months. A series grows along with the stories. I have a map of South Cove in my head. I know if Jill wants to go to the gym, she turns left when she leaves Coffee, Books, and More. More often than not, she turns right, toward home. Or the police station to visit Greg. Or her BFF A
